Leonardo da Vinci’s Profezie — enigmatic miniatures from the Milanese court of the 1480s — read today like visions of our present: “Men will walk without moving. They will speak with those who are not there.” Beat Furrer shapes his epoch-making ENIGMA cycle from these texts, heard here for the first time in its entirety in Austria.

At the same time, the prophecies are extended: students from the Pius-Institut in Bruck an der Mur develop their own images of the future, which inspire four young composers — Soyeon Park, Luca Bardelle, Tina Geroldinger, and Anna Sowa — to create new works. More than 250 voices, professionals, young people, and amateurs alike, come together to bring this music and its riddles to life. A cross-generational singers’ celebration that fills the entire Helmut List Halle with voices.
