Natasha Barrett

Natasha Barrett (NO/UK) is a composer, new media artist and researcher. She creates acousmatic, electronic and electroacoustic music, public-space sound installations, and audiovisual works. Internationally recognised for her artistic work with 3D sound and ambisonics, her compositions are performed worldwide and have received numerous awards, including the Nordic Council Music Prize. Alongside her solo practice, Barrett collaborates with instrumentalists, visual artists, architects and scientists. She frequently uses data from real-world processes as artistic material. Her projects include 3D audiovisual works with the USA-based OpenEndedGroup, collaborations with geoscientists, and works with ensembles such as L'Itinéraire (FR), the Cikada Quartet (NO), and the SWR Symphony Orchestra (DE). Following professorships and research positions in Norway and Denmark, she now works as a freelance artist.
