Rita Ueda (*1963) studierte Komposition und Sounddesign an der Simon Fraser University und am California Institute of the Arts. Zu ihren Lehrer zählten u.a. Rudolf Komoros, Rodney Sharman, Wadada Leo Smith, Morton Subotnick und David Rosenboom.Die Komponistin, Sounddesignerin und Musiklehrerin Rita Ueda lebt in Vancouver, Kanada. Zu ihren jüngsten Werken zählen u.a. “forty years of snowfall will not heal an ancient forest” für das Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Tokei no Oto Nimo (In the Sound of a Clock) für Musica Intima, oder Still Shaking from the Latte, ein Solo-Klavierstück für Misuzu Kitazumi Burns. Als Sounddirector arbeitete sie als für zahlreiche Film- und DVD- Produktionen wie “The Encyclopaedia of British Columbia” oder “Masks: Faces of the Pacific”.
