They finally come together!

On the one hand there’s Radian, a band with a classical rock  trio line-up: electric guitar, bass and drums. On the other, The Necks, a formation with a classical jazz trio line-up: piano, bass and drums. What both groups have in common is that they are constantly expanding, evading and playing around their classical line-ups. It would have made sense for the trios to engage with each other in the past.

And indeed, the two trios, who have admired each other for some time, have always wanted to go on stage together. But geographical distance and constraints of time have never permitted this summit meeting up to now. The time has finally come at musikprotokoll: the Australian band The Necks and the Vienna-based formation Radian are now set to undertake their first joint performance. A far-sighted world premiere.
