A Breton bagpipe player, a Tunisian singer, and a Lebanese percussionist came together to form this astounding trio. Erwan Keravec has repeatedly demonstrated that bagpipes, with their archaic power, are a fascinating instrument for experimentation and new music and has also collaborated with musicians such as Wolfgang Mitterer and Mats Gustafsson. In 2015 Keravec founded the trio Revolutionary Birds together with the percussionist Wassim Halal and the poet and singer Mounir Troudi, trained in Arabic vocals, Sufi traditions, and jazz. Since then the trio has been exploring the fascinating potential of different musical worlds that is born from such an unusual combination — presented for the first time in Austria!
