The 54th edition of the festival "ORF musikprotokoll im steirischen herbst" with 25 world premieres and 18 Austrian premieres was an exciting nomadic journey into the most diverse contemporary sound worlds. Top international and Austrian ensembles, musicians, composers and sound artists were guests in Graz from 7 to 10 October and offered a varied, exciting programme of the new and as yet unheard.

Starting on 25 October, there will be an innovative streaming of selected musikprotokoll concerts 2021 for one month: In cooperation with the "IEM - Institute for Electronic Music and Acoustics at the University of Music in Graz", the ORF concert surround recordings will be encoded as binaural audio files and put online at musikprotokoll.ORF.at - a picture track recorded with several cameras will complement the acoustic events. From 25 October to 25 November 2021, anyone with a computer, webcam and headphones can try out a new way of listening from home: With "musikprotokoll dynamic streaming", the head movements of the listeners will be tracked in real time, so that the spatial reproduction of what is heard will change - creating an amazingly realistic sound experience. Of course, it is also possible to explore the concert programme without a webcam via conventional streaming.
