Café Wolf
Ian Spektor, u.a.

Café Wolf is the festival bar and late-night stage of ORF musikprotokoll. At this legendary haunt for many musicians, conversations start easily. The café on Annenstraße opened in 1931. Walter Wolf renovated it in the 1970s and fitted it out in the modern style of the day, which continues to define the bar’s flair to this day. In 2017, Thomas Fink and Michael “Mitch” Stoiser took over. They offer a wide-ranging cultural and music programme on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

For ORF musikprotokoll, Café Wolf also opens its doors on Fridays and Saturdays. The Friday close-of-festival-day is curated and hosted by Rainer Binder-Krieglstein, himself a pop experimentalist and drummer on projects by Bernhard Lang. On Saturday there is a carte blanche for musikprotokoll artists, taken up among others by Kyiv-based Ian Spektor, who presents a moving audio documentary on loss, memory, and daily life during the war at Graz Museum.
