Dom im Berg
Young students from all over the world

The three winning pieces from the Student 3D Audio Production Competition (S3DAPC) in the contemporary/computer music category are presented in a public listening session. It uses Dom im Berg’s 3D sound system to take you into the extraordinary sonic landscapes of young computer musicians. Since 2017, students have been able to submit their 3D audio productions in the Ambisonics audio format in three categories: contemporary/computer music; audio drama / documentary / soundscapes; music recording / studio production. Participants from all over the world have the opportunity to play back their work with open-source tools on any speaker system or headphones. The best works are selected by a thirty-member international jury. The final ranking of the winners is announced at the Tonmeister:innentagung conference in Düsseldorf in November 2023.

The S3DAPC winners in the contemporary/computer music are:

  • Wei Yang ní nán
  • Yongbing Dai Nirvana rebirth?
  • Zétény Nagy Would There Be A Void?

Organization, conception: Matthias Frank and Franz Zotter. The Student 3D Audio Production Competition 2023 is a production of IEM, in cooperation with VDTVerband deutscher Tonmeister*innen and ORF musikprotokoll.
