For forest floodlights Franziska Thurner, Abby Lee Tee and Manja Ristić immersed themselves in the forest landscape of the Austrian-Czech borderlands, following the trails of ants, beavers, crayfishes, and otters, exploring the hydrogeomorphology of various forest creeks, and listening to lake sediments or insect choruses.
A landscape intertwined with bodies of water and unfathomable forest slopes with an almost tangible veil gently resonating between past and present, ancient nature and modern society, personal and collective histories. The now invisible border along the former Iron Curtain becomes visible only through different attitudes toward the exploitation of nature.
