Franziska Thurner

Franziska Thurner is a media artist and university lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and the University of Art Linz. In the course of her more than 10 years of teaching, she has devoted herself to researching and testing emerging technologies with a focus on art, school and mediation work, as well as questions of digital ethics and digital justice. Under the name System Jaquelinde (with Hanna Priemetzhofer), she has been creating interdisciplinary and collaborative works with digital & analog media since 2005, especially in the fields of music video, multimedia installation or artistic research - to be seen at Ars Electronica Deep Space, the Sound:Frame Festival, the Diagonale or the Trükimuuseum, among others. Franziska Thurner explores the field of algorithms and tries to manually provoke their error-proneness in order to make them visible in digital photo series.
