Whodentity – Self and Other in Artistic Collaborations

How is identity defined and challenged in collaborative contexts of art and artistic research? Between composers and performers, between performers or improvisors in an ensemble, and between artists working across disciplines, creative closeness, distance, and friction arise out of underlying social identities. In this panel, musicians, artistic researchers, and scientists discuss creative conflicts, with a special focus on collaborations and on how (and whose) identities can be questioned, changed, rejected, or found through interactions with others.
