Unity Switch—a sensory exchange. You see hands doing what they are supposed to do—but they are not your own hands. Alexander Schubert’s Unity Switch makes this extraordinary experience possible. The interactive installation allows participants to see through other people’s eyes and interact virtually. With the help of video glasses and cameras, visual and sonic perception can be transferred from one person to another—a partial exchange of the senses. The switch prompts us to question our self-perception and digital impressions. The result is a space for exploration that creates experiences we won’t quickly forget. The encounter is exclusive: you sit in a room across from another person, equipped with video glasses and cameras. At first you see the images from your own camera, but it doesn’t stay that way …
