Annette Giesriegl

Annette Giesriegl is a vocalist and vocal teacher. She relocated to Graz from Tyrol in 1989 to study jazz singing at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts (KUG). Her love for improvisation and sound has led and continues to lead her into many areas of vocal expression, with particular emphasis on free improvisation and the art of “instant composing”. She performs in various settings and instrumentations all over the world. Giesriegl co-founded the Styrian Improvisers Orchestra and an improvisation forum for dance and music. She has been teaching as a senior lecturer for bodywork, stage presence training and didactics for jazz singing at the KUG for 15 years, and jazz and pop singing at the Weiz music school since 1997.
