Foto © Maria Frodl Petra Stump-Linshalm Working with various ensembles and as a soloist, Petra Stump-Linshalm not only plays the classical repertoire but also devotes herself to experimental and improvised music and especially to contemporary music. A few years ago, she also started composing music herself. Petra Stump-Linshalm studied clarinet at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna, and bass clarinet at the Amsterdam Conservatory. She has won several prizes and awards. Many composers have written pieces for Petra Stump-Linshalm and her ensembles. Communicating her knowledge of contemporary and classical music to children in the form of concerts and workshops rounds off her creative activities. In 2012 she became a senior lecturer at the Joseph Haydn Department of Chamber Music, Early Music and Contemporary Music of the mdw (University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna) where she teaches chamber music.
