World Music, for example the Graz-based, Polish-born composer Joanna Wozny with her fragile world of timbres or the Japanese-born composer Dai Fujikura, who lives in London, with his self-confidently showy expressivity. Californian-born composer Erin Gee, who lives in Graz, Austria, uses her own voice as a counterweight to the sound of the whole orchestra, while the English star composer George Benjamin - Fujikura's teacher - premières his latest piece, a suite of dance and speech: orchestral contrasts as a special kind of world music.
