Helmut Jasbar im Gespräch mit Ilan Volkov

The radio program Ö1 Klassik-Treffpunkt broadcasts from the Akademie Graz. Among the guests of host Helmut Jasbar is the Israeli conductor Ilan Volkov, who is conducting in conjunction with musikprotokoll, for the Vienna RSO and also for Klangforum Wien. Between these two concerts makes time for an extended broadcasted conversation about music and other important things in life. As the former assistant to Seiji Ozawa of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Ilan Volkov is among the most successful conductors of his generation and also a proven expert in contemporary music. In addition to his engagements with important international orchestras, he founded the project Tectonics in 2012 in Iceland, a festival whose imaginative and eclectic programming cuts across experimental music, improvisation, world music, electronics, and other styles and has since taken place at many other locations, including Adelaide, New York, and Tel Aviv.
