Martin Brandlmayr

Working in the blurred space between composition and improvisation, Martin Brandlmayr (*1971, Bad Ischl/AUT) fuses electronic and acoustic sounds. He is a member of the groups Polwechsel and Trapist and became internationally known with the post-rock trio Radian, which formed in 1997 and has released seven albums. Brandlmayr has collaborated with numerous musicians, including David Sylvian, Howe Gelb, Christian Fennesz, Ken Vandermark, Otomo Yoshihide, Sachiko M, John Tilbury, Mats Gustafsson, and The Necks. His music has been released on reputed labels such as Thrill Jockey (USA), Kranky (USA), Staubgold (DE), Hat Hut (CH), Samadhisound (GB) and ~scape (DE), among others. He was awarded the prestigious Karl Sczuka Prize for his radio play Vive les fantômes in 2018.
