Born in Düsseldorf, Stefan Betke aka Pole has been living in Berlin since 1996. Mastering engineer, started his own label ~scape (with Barbara Preisinger) and his new studio for CD mastering, scape mastering, in 1999. His music has been released on Mute Records, ~scape (Steingarten, 2007) and pole, the artist label he founded for his music only (Waldgeschichten series, 2011). The current releases reconnect Pole's latest sound visions with his earlier work at the cutting edge of electronic club music, urban dub, and avant-garde.
