Danielle Dahl (b. 1989) is a saxophonist and composer. She is interested in the extremes of sonic variations possible on the acoustic saxophone, combining subtle and minimal means of expression with the aesthetics of noise and free jazz. As a composer she focuses on psychoacoustic phenomena (psychoacoustic étude no. 1, 2013), the relationship between text and sound, a phenomenon called “copyright”, and creating awkward situations on purpose.
