Dmitri Kourliandski, born in Moscow in 1976, graduated from the Moscow Conservatory, completed a postgraduate course with Leonid Bobylev. Participated in the Young Composers Meeting in Appeldoorn in 2000 and 2001 (with Louis Andreiessen, Andrew Toovey, Martijn Padding), Royaumont Composition Session 2004 with Brian Ferneyhough, Philippe Leroux, Luca Francesconi. Composition awards from Russia, France and Great Britain. 2003 Grand Prix of the International Gaudeamus Competition, Netherlands; 2010 Gianni Bergamo Classic Music Award, Switzerland. Guest of Berliner Kuenstlerprogramm 2008 (DAAD Artist-in-Residence). Ensemble 2e2m, France, composer-in-residence 2010.
