Yulan Yu (*1990, Jiangmen, China) began her classical music training in early childhood (piano, choir singing). She studied contemporary classical composition with Klaus Lang at Kunstuniversität Graz, Austria. She is also active as an instrumentalist (keyboard, guzheng) performing music of diverse genres (new music, free improvisation, experimental music, electronic, a. o.) through which she strives to connect the unusual to the mundane, simplicity to mystery, the modern to tradition, as well as the East to the West.
