NMS Edelschrott is a special form of the so-called New Secondary School. Through exposure to music on many levels it gives pupils a chance to build an intense bond with music. In addition to five hours of music class per week and individual lessons in a particular instrument, they can further their musical talent by playing in any of the wide range of types of ensembles offered (from folk music to the school’s own big band). The children’s creativity is encouraged and nurtured in the classroom. Moreover, pupils actively participate in local musical activities and develop a critical and liberal cultural awareness.
