Yuval Shaked

Yuval Shaked was born in Kibbutz Gesher in Israel in 1955. He studied at the Rubin Academy of Music, the Tel Aviv University and the Cologne University of Music (“new musical theatre” with Mauricio Kagel). From 1986 to 2016 he taught at the Kibbutzim College in Tel Aviv. He was the editor of the journal IMI News from 1990 to 1996 and also published the CD series produced by the Israel Music Institute. From 2000 to 2008 he was head of the Feher Jewish Music Center at the Diaspora Museum (Tel Aviv) and produced its CDs. He has taught at the Haifa University since 2000, was head of the music department from 2011 to 2015 and has served as the director of the School of the Arts since 2016. Yuval Shaked has scored a broad range of compositions and written extensively on music.
