From October 3 to 11, ORF musikprotokoll 2026, under the theme Supernova, will set out in search of the origin—that connection between the microcosm and the macrocosm that stretches from nuclear fusion within stars to our very own inner selves. In numerous world premieres, the invited artists will explore this trail—from the search for dark matter to a journey into the sun to Leonardo da Vinci’s sound puzzle—accompanied by the “Supernova” exhibition and the symposium Space, Time and Material at the Volkskundemuseum am Paulustor, which serves as the festival’s hub.
