Klangbilder (Sound images): Short films, videos, signs and symbols, graphic scores, mental images: sound images serve as the conceptual starting point for this year’s konfrontationen 7. Participating in the musikprotokoll program for the third time, the konfrontationen project was founded in 2010 by the association Conto musicale as a cross- generational creative platform.

It offers a space for artists from various genres to develop artistic concepts in collaboration with young people and to present them in live performances. In 2018, members of the Graz-based ensemble Schallfeld and ensemble zeitfluss have joined forces with students from Styrian schools to conceive new works of sound art, confronting the acoustic and visual universes of different generations in an exciting encounter.The cello and double bass classes of the Gleisdorf Music School are also part of the programme.
