Beginning of September the second ICAS SUITE BERLIN will take-off within Berlin’s Music Week. Running 5 to 8 September 2012, the 4-day festival brimming with concerts, club nights, and workshops at venues around the Kottbusser Tor forges ever new links between the city's burgeoning arts scene and music initiatives around the globe. The ICAS SUITE BERLIN is a unique, collaborative music festival that evolved from the cooperation of more than 35 festivals and music initiatives around the globe. This year’s program sees ICAS (International Cities for Advanced Sound) member organizations join forces with Berlin labels and music initiatives to test new collaborations and projects that run from unknown, experimental acts to artists that are increasingly gathering a buzz.

In addition to the ICAS SUITE music program, the CTM Festival and its ICAS partners contribute to the Music Week’s conference program, Word on Sound, with a series of lectures and panels titled Denkfabrik about the relation between music, culture and economy that takes place on 5 September. The musikprotokoll will be represented by Susanna Niedermayr, who will raise the question: What became of the utopia of the early electronic club culture ?
