William Dougherty

William Dougherty is an American composer whose works have been performed internationally by renowned ensembles and his music has been performed in festivals such as the Donaueschinger Musiktage, the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival, the Internationale Ferienkurse für Neue Musik in Darmstadt, the New York Philharmonic Biennal, and the Bowling Green New Music Festival. Dougherty graduated with a Bachelor’s in Music Composition from Temple University’s Boyer College of Music and Dance in Philadelphia and earned his Master’s from the Royal College of Music in London after which he completed supplementary studies under the guidance of Georg Friedrich Haas at the Musik-Akademie Basel. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate of the Musical Arts at Columbia University in New York City.
