Vimbayi Kaziboni

Zimbabwean-born conductor Vimbayi Kaziboni is acclaimed for his expressive intensity and imaginative interpretations. A leading voice in contemporary music, he has conducted major orchestras and ensembles worldwide, including the LA Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic, Ensemble Modern, and Klangforum Wien, where he became conductor-in-residence in 2024. He has premiered works by Haas, Lewis, Goebbels, and Adams, and collaborates regularly with soloists like Aimard and Zimmermann. Kaziboni is also artist-in-residence with the International Contemporary Ensemble and teaches at Boston Conservatory. He is a Fulbright Fellow, Ditson Award winner, and alumnus of USC and Frankfurt’s HfMDK.
