Primarily a purveyor of modern music, Tyler J. Borden has performed with contemporary music luminaries such as the JACK Quartet, Tony Conrad, and DJ Spooky, he has played at numerous festivals, including the Soundways New Music Festival in St. Petersburg and June in Buffalo, and has been a participant at the Lucerne Festival Academy. Tyler is particularly interested in the music of his generation and has been commissioned to write and perform by a variety of entities. He is also an active improviser, his improvisations are included in Guggenheim Fellow Kasumi’s film Shockwaves. Tyler J. Borden has studied at Ithaca College and SUNY Buffalo and is currently working towards his DMA with Charles Curtis.
