Tamar (Tamuna) Tolordava, born in 1961, is a musicologist, an educator, and a chanter. She is an alumna of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, and is a member of the women’s choir Sathanao. Tamuna Tolordava and Dato Shugliashvili are married, and have two children – Inola and Levan Shugliashvili. One cause of Tamuna’s and Dato’s marriage in 1994 was their mutual love of music and singing and their desire to sing together. Opportunities to perform songs by Dato’s mother, Inola Gurgulia, together are particularly precious to them.
