Susanne Kogler

Susanne Kogler is a professor of musicology at the University of Graz and director of the Institute of Art and Musicology. She completed studies in Classical Philology, Musicology, and Music Education. In 2001, she earned her Ph.D. with the thesis "Am Ende, wortlos, die Musik: Sprache und Sprachlichkeit im zeitgenössischen Musikschaffen," followed by her Habilitation in 2012 with "Adorno versus Lyotard: modern and postmodern aesthetics." As a visiting professor, she has taught at institutions such as New York City University, Université Paris 8, and the University of Ljubljana. She is the author of numerous publications on the music history and aesthetics of the 19th to 21st centuries.
