Stefan Kaltenböck
Stefan Kaltenböck is a choir director, conductor and music teacher based primarily in Upper Austria. His work is characterised by stylistic versatility – historical performance practice is just as important to him as the interpretation of contemporary choral works. He leads all the choirs at the Linz Music Gymnasium, holds a teaching post in children’s and youth choir conducting at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, and works on a project basis with numerous ensembles, as well as leading choir conducting seminars in Austria and beyond. In his artistic practice, he combines interpretative clarity with a nuanced sound ideal and a particular sensitivity to text and space.
