S.E.T.I.

The British musician and producer Andrew Lagowski has been active in the field of electronic music since the early 1980s. In a diverse body of work, released under project names such as Lagowski, Legion, Clans of the Alphane Moon and Project Ghost, he focuses on the transformation of sound through experimental techniques and unconventional sources. Early works such as Nadir and Die Datenschleuder reveal a pronounced interest in sound textures, signal structures and non-traditional compositional approaches. In the 1990s, he turned to technoid forms and released influential singles on Chromium Industries. At the same time, he developed S.E.T.I. (Scientific Evidence Translated for Introspection), which is now the central focus of his work. Inspired by the aesthetics of the search for extraterrestrial signals, an introspective practice emerged in which transmission, noise and observation are translated into immersive soundscapes. More recent works such as Sleep Environments for Interplanetary Travel emphasise duration, spatial listening and subtle shifts in perception.
