Sehyung (Sergey) Kim is an active composer, currently based in Austria. He graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory and University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz. His mentors were such composers, as Dmitri Kourliandski, Beat Furrer, Pierluigi Billone and Bernhard Lang. He has written works in various genres, from solo pieces and improvised music to orchestral works and music theater, for which he has received numerous prizes and awards in Austria, Germany, France, the United States and Russia. Sehyung has received commissions from various institutions such as the Impuls, ORF, Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Deutsche Bank Stiftung and at various times he has also collaborated with such ensembles as Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Modern, Musikfabrik, ensemble PHACE and others.
