Sandeep Bhagwati is a worldwide active composer, researcher, publicist, speaker, poet and theatre-maker. From 2000 he was a composition professor at the Karlsruhe University of Music), from 2006 he has been Canada Research Chair at the Concordia University of Montréal. He’s also been the founder of matralab (artistic research) and director of trans-traditional ensembles in Berlin (Ensemble Extrakte), Pune (Sangeet Prayog), Montréal, Oslo and Toronto. Bhagwati has also been active as co-editor of the journal "TURBA-The Journal for Global Practices in Live Arts Curation" and co-director of TENOR, an international network for notation technologies. His work has been the focus of a "Season Homage" 2023/24 initiated by the Society for New Music in Quebec (SMCQ).
