Rune Glerup

Rune Glerup (*1981) studied with a number of composers in Denmark and abroad. Further studies at IRCAM followed. His work has been rewarded with grants and prizes from the Danish Arts Foundation, the Léonie Sonning Music Prize and the Bisballe Prize. Prominent premieres during recent years include Divertimento, performed and commissioned by Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen and Festival Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo, the premiere of Concerto for Piano and Orchestra, performed by the Radio-Sinfonieorchester SWR at the Biennale di Venezia, Examples of Dust, performed and commissioned by Ensemble intercontemporain and IRCAM, Clarinet Quintet performed by Alain Billard, Quatuor Diotima and commissioned by IRCAM, and in 2016 the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra premiered his Symphony. From 2013–15 he has been Artistic Advisor for the Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen and 2012–16 Artistic Director of KLANG – Copenhagen Avantgarde Music Festival.
