Reinhard Fuchs, born in 1974, studied composition with Michael Jarrell (1996–2002) and took classes with Brian Ferneyhough, Marco Stroppa, Magnus Lindberg, and Klaus Huber, among others. In 1997 he was one of the founders of the composer collective GEGENKLANG. He has been commissioned to write pieces for the Salzburg Festival, Bavarian State Opera, Witten Days for New Chamber Music, Wien Modern, Donaueschingen Festival, Konzerthaus Berlin, Klangforum Wien, Wiener Konzerthaus, musikprotokoll, among others. He has earned numerous prizes and awards. His works have been performed by Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Vienna RSO, Basel Sinfonietta, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, Arditti Quartet, Ensemble Accroche Note, ensemble on_line, Tyrol Ensemble for New Music, Ensemble Wiener Collage. General manager and artistic director of PHACE Contemporary Music since 2008.
