Petra Strahovnik

Petra Strahovnik: “Esoterically speaking I see myself as a passenger in current time and space, open to thoughts that pop up, to creating ideas, to collecting pieces for artistic work that will shake our thoughts and minds.” From the start, Petra Strahovnik has been following her path in search of new sounds, and she has never been restricted by the traditional way of how we think about sound and music. She studied composition with Uroš Rojko, Martijn Padding and Peter Adriaansz. The piece Prana won her the 66th International Rostrum of Composers Prize. In an art residency with the Ensemble Modelo62 Petra is creating the project DisOrders to raise questions on how we deal with mental health. Her achievements include a fellowship and art residency at Villa Concordia Bamberg and the Berlin Art Prize for Music 2021.
