Peter Lackner

Peter Lackner (*1966 in Graz, † 2018) began his musical education with piano lessons under Margarete Klivinyi at the State Conservatory in Graz. From 1988 to 1994, he studied composition with Hermann Markus Preßl. In 1991, he was awarded the Cultural Promotion Prize of the City of Graz, and in 1994, he received the Recognition Prize from the Federal Ministry of Education and Arts. Since 1994, he was a lecturer at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, teaching the subjects of music theory, counterpoint, and ear training. His works have been performed at numerous festivals, including the International Neuberger Cultural Days, the Easter Festival in Innsbruck, the Austrian Contemporary Music Festival in Iowa, USA, and the Eleventh International Festival in Riga, Latvia.
