Orestis Toufektsis

Orestis Toufektsis (*1966) studied from 1986 piano, harmony and counterpoint at the conservatory, and at the same time geodesy at the Technical University in Thessaloniki. From 1993, he continued his composition studies with Gerd Kühr at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. Toufektsis has received various awards, including the Composition Prize of the City of Klagenfurt in 1995 and the Music Promotion Prize of the City of Graz in 2007. He is a founding member of the artresonanz ensemble and has participated in numerous international performances. Toufektsis has collaborated with renowned ensembles such as ensemble zeitfluss and the RSO Wien. Additionally, he teaches music theory at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and has served as the artistic co-director of the Outhear New Music Week in Larissa, Greece since 2017.
