Mona Matbou Riahi (*1990) was born in Tehran and moved to Vienna at the age of 17 to study at the University of Music and Performing Arts. She has made a name for herself as a clarinettist and composer in a wide variety of projects and music education projects. Her unique interpretive approach and limitless technical skills in improvisation have captivated audiences internationally. Her music contains contemporary and classical elements, improvisation as well as electronic experiments, combined with extended techniques and innovations in search of unheard sounds and a personal language. She has performed in various artistic formations and projects, including dance, theater and multimedia art on the stage of world-renowned festivals and concert venues. Her CD Narrante received worldwide critical acclaim.
