Mersolis Schöne works with film as a poetic form of encounter, listening, and shared thinking. At the centre of his practice is a mode of filmic philosophising that brings together essayistic, documentary, and experimental approaches. In this context, filmic situations emerge in which images, voices, bodies, and sounds enter into relation with one another. With Moving Thought – Film+Philosophy (https://www.movingthought.org), he founded a laboratory for philosophical film projects at the intersection of cinema, performance, and research. In close collaboration with ensembles of new improvised music, he created works including the experimental short film Sign Action Space, the concert portrait In This Present Space, and the philosophical film essay Impovised Endings.
