Maxim Kolomiiets

The Ukrainian composer and oboist Maxim Kolomiiets was born 1981 in Kyiv. As a solo-oboist he played with orchestras like Kyiv soloists and Russische Kammerphilharmonie St. Petersburg. Together with the Ukho Ensemble, he realized the Ukrainian premiere of the concert for oboe No.2 by Luca Francesconi, as also ensemble pieces by Boulez, Gervasoni, Ferneyhough, Berio, Kurtág, and many others. His music has been performed at festivals like MATA-Festival (New York), Donaueschinger Musiktage, Warsaw Autumn, ISCM World Music Days, Randfestspiele Zepernick etc. Since 2015 he is the solo-oboist of the Ukho Ensemble Kyiv for contemporary music. Kolomiiets is co-founder of Ensemble Nostri Temporis and founder of the Luna Ensemble for ancient music.
