Manu Mayr currently lives and works as a freelance musician, composer and music producer in Vienna. His concert activities have taken him to renowned festivals in the fields of jazz, new music and electronics. Exploring and connecting a wide variety of sound worlds and their sociotopes can be described as the core of his creative work. In doing so, he engages with the myriad currents of contemporary musical creation - from the interpretation of new music to experimental electronics, improvisation and jazz to hip-hop and pop. He is a founding member of the ensembles schtum, 5K HD, Gabbeh and Kompost 3, a member of Synesthetic 4 and Studio Dan, guest musician with Klangforum Wien, PHACE, Nouvelle Ensemble Contemporain, as well as BIT20 Ensemble and last but not least active as a solo artist.
