Malin Bång’s music explores movement and energy, she defines her musical material by the amount of friction to create a spectrum of unpredictable and contrasting actions, ranging from the intimate and barely audible to the harsh and obstinate. Her numerous awards include the Kranichsteiner Stipendienpreis from the Internationalen Musikinstitut in Darmstadt. In 2010 her work epic abrasion commissioned for the Wittener Tagen für Neue Musik was premiered by Ensemble Recherche. 2012/2013, guest at the DAAD Artist-in-Residence Program in Berlin.
