Klaus Lang

Klaus Lang (Graz, 1971*) lives in Vienna and Stadl an der Mur in Styria. He studied composition and music theory with Hermann Markus Preßl, Beat Furrer and Younghi Pagh-Paan as well as organ performance. Klaus Lang is Professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. He loves tea. What he doesn't like are lawnmowers and Richard Wagner. He does not use music as a means of conveying non-musical content, for him, music is a free acoustic object in its own right. For Klaus Lang, time as the actual material of the composer is also the central object of the music. Music is time made audible.
