Judith Hamann

Judith Hamann is an Australian-born cellist. Her performance practice stretches across various genres, encompassing elements of improvised, experimental, and popular music. She is a champion of new and rarely performed music, immersive approaches to sound, and engages with a range of interdisciplinary projects. Judith has studied with many cellists, including Charles Curtis and Séverine Ballon. In addition to festival performances, she has also worked with artists and ensembles, including Oren Ambarchi, ELISION ensemble, Maya Dunietz, La Monte Young, and John Zorn. Judith Hamann is a founding member of Golden Fur, Hammers Lake, and Cello II.
