Joachim Jung

Joachim Jung (*1963 in Munich, † 2014 in Graz) began his musical education with piano lessons from Prof. Victor Ryder and composition lessons from Gloria Coates. After graduating from high school in Munich in 1982, he studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG) from 1984 to 1989, where he took composition with Hermann Markus Preßl and music theory with Andrzej Dobrowolski. He graduated with a distinguished artistic diploma and received the Award of Excellence from the Federal Minister of Science and Research. Further composition studies led him to Younghi Pagh-Paan and Beat Furrer. From 1989 to 2014, Jung taught at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and dedicated himself intensively to the themes of time, the perception of time, and slowness.
