Jeff Weston

Jeff Weston (*1986, Iowa) composes music at the University of Pittsburgh where he is a Ph.D. Candidate in Music Composition and Theory, and has earned a Ph.D. Certificate in Cultural Studies with an emphasis in Sound Studies. Utilizing a non-extravagance of sound and task, Weston's music is focused upon the elementary and reoccurring. Weston has garnered performances and fellowships at such venues as the IRCAM Centre Pompidou (FR), Carnegie Museum of Art (US), International Young Composers’ Forum (NL), MISE-EN Festival (NYC), Contagious Sounds Series (NYC), and Radio France. Interpreters have included the JACK Quartet, Ensemble Linea, Wet Ink Ensemble, h2 Quartet, Amernet Quartet, Orkest de Ereprijs, and pianist Michiko Saiki. He currently resides somewhere between the Atlantic Ocean and a cornfield.
