Gernot Tutner has been a fixture in the electronic music scene in Graz since the beginning of the millennium. He was initially focussed on danceable club music, but by the mid-noughties he had started to explore experimental and improvised music and learned how to build digital sound machines. In 2004 he founded the music collective moonbootz recordings, which has since been his label for club music performances and events. Since 2006, Gernot Tutner is part of the V:NM festival organisation team and also plays in the Styrian Improvisers Orchestra. In addition to V:NM, he collaborates with other cultural organisations such as Radio Helsinki or mur.at. Gernot Tutner is an audio engineer, IT technician, musician, producer, composer, and DJ. His music is infused with the synthesis of the abstract and the concrete and an ever present, almost inherent groove despite its uncompromising reduction and repetition.
